Eurobodalla Shire Council installed the equipment to encourage residents and visitors to maintain active lifestyles by addressing the cost barrier that often stops people from participating in structured exercise.
The Batehaven equipment follows similar installations at Moruya’s Riverside Park and at Wagonga Inlet in Narooma.
Each piece of equipment has instructions and tips attached to it to residents use it safely and get the maximum benefit.
The council is offering free classes to learn how to use it every Friday during March and April from 10.30am to 11.30am.
Council’s community, arts and recreation director Kathy Arthur said the exercise equipment was a great place to start getting healthy.
“It’s free to use which makes it an affordable fitness option and council’s free classes at Corrigans Beach can help you achieve results,” she said.
“We are pleased to provide these three outdoor exercise areas that have been funded by Eurobodalla Shire Council’s 2013-14 Southern Phone dividend.”
