Bega MP and NSW Treasurer Andrew Constance announced the funding last week, but it was unclear if it would need to be signed off after the March 28 election.
Mr Constance’s office has since confirmed the funds were allocated in the 2014-15 NSW Budget, as part of the NSW Public Library Infrastructure program, which provides $15 million over four years for library projects.
The grant will fund the first stage of a $2.5 million library and community building extension.
