Cora’s talk, entitled “Mapping our families: Putting them in their place”, will demonstrate how computer technology has changed the way maps are accessed and used to help locate family members.
The meeting will be held at 10am on Wednesday, Feb-ruary 4, at the Memorial Hall, 11 Page Street, Moruya – a change of venue for this month only.
After morning tea, small groups will cover such topics as family history, Excel, PhotoFiltre, backing up your computer, and tablets and iPads. Technical support and general help for members will also be available.
EuroSCUG generally meets at Moruya Golf Club at 10am on the first Wednesday of every month, except January.
Members, from beginners to more experienced computer users, share computer experiences in a relaxed atmosphere, the focus of the group being peer support.
Area group meetings are held regularly at Batemans Bay, Moruya, Tuross Head and Narooma.
Visitors are always welcome at the meetings but are invited and encouraged to join after attending one meeting as a visitor.
With increasing membership, EuroSCUG is looking for more volunteer tutors and helpers for both the general meetings and the area group meetings. Assistance and support are available.
