Thirty-four Rotarians will lace up for the 24-hour event on March 14 and 15 to walk the track as well as provide catering.
Rotary member Vere Gray said the team raised $1400 for the Cancer Council through their catering van last year.
“Our contribution is the catering,” she said.
“We hope to raise something similar to last year.
“All Rotary members donate the food for the day and work in the van during the event.”
Mrs Gray said supporting the Relay was important.
“Most of us have had a brush with cancer in our families,” she said.
“I think it is important to support the fundraising event so that the Cancer Council can keep going with its research.”
Seeing the community come together was a highlight for Mrs Gray.
“You see all the teams and all the people in the community having fun and it is just great,” she said.
“It’s a great community atmosphere on the day.
“I love that all the different communities in Batemans Bay come together and have a good day.”
Mrs Gray said she hoped to see the event continue to run long into the future.
“It is an important event and the Cancer Council is an important organisation,” she said.
“Rotary likes to be active in our local community and support our local community events.”
The event will be held at Mackay Park and currently has 15 teams registered, with $1634 raised.
