Bringing the full-traditional circus to Batemans Bay is not an easy feat with lions, dogs, monkeys, clowns, 17 performers, 14 trucks, five semi-trailers and 14 caravans involved in the operation.
Lennon Bros Circus is the oldest touring circus in Australia and started 121 years ago as a buck jump show.
Warren Lennon from the troupe said the circus travelled for 11 months of the year and stopped in Batemans Bay only every three years.
“We mainly perform in the eastern states of Australia,” he said.
“We love the area because of the beaches and the people are awesome.”
Mr Lennon said people could expect a lot of action and excitement when watching the show.
“There is laughter, death-defying acts and entertainment for the whole family,” he said.
“We always have a different show.
“Live entertainment is the best form of entertainment out there.
“Our circus is a different experience for everyone.”
A highlight of the show for Mr Lennon is the wheel of death.
Aerial performer Monique West was born into the circus and has been performing since she was knee-high.
“My favourite part of the show is the flying act,” she said.
“I enjoy getting to do what I love to do while I travel.
“Seeing the smiles and the awe on people’s faces is amazing.”
The show includes actors from overseas and Australia and runs for approximately two hours.
The circus will be in Mackay Park Batemans Bay until February 1.
