THE Tomakin Sports and Social Club Fishing Club held its annual presentation and Christmas party in fine style on the weekend.
There were no surprises in the awards as some of the club’s most consistent anglers featured on the winners’ list.
Club president Phil Boneham was named the club’s senior champion and he also was the blue water senior champion ahead of runner-up Hugh Johnson.
Young Scott Rigby was the overall
junior champion and followed in the club president’s footsteps by taking out the junior blue water prize.
Elizabeth Krijnen was runner-up and the club commends both juniors who did not miss a fishable competition all year.
Sandra Boneham was the women’s blue water winner and Dale Evans was the ladies’ rock, beach and estuary champion.
On the junior side Reece Nye was the rock beach and estuary champion.
The year presented Tomakin fishos with many challenges mainly due to bad weather conditions although the club was blessed with excellent conditions for its annual Mighty Bonanza competition.
It’s hoped the current weather pattern is broken during the festive season as before the recent falls most rivers were producing solid catches.
The club advises anglers to revise changes to legal lengths and bag limits as most boat ramps have new regulations on display and NSW Fisheries and the Marine Park Authority will be out in force during the holiday period.
Until next competition, keep those rods held high and those lines tight.
