The New Year's Day event will kick off at 2pm at the Moruya Showground with the junior bull riders before the main event starts at 4pm.
Moruya Rodeo stock contractor John Davidge said 25 open bull riders had registered for the event.
“We haven’t had that many for quite a number of years,” he said.
“All up there is nearly 300 entries, which is a record.”
Mr Davidge said 10 new bulls had been bought for the competition.
“We thought we needed a different bloodline,” he said.
“These bulls are bred to buck.”
Rodeo committee president Andy Mehl said he was hoping for over 3000 spectators to attend.
“People should come to see the few thrills and spills,” he said.
“It’s a good day out.”
Mr Mehl said Moruya Rodeo was one of the “better ones on the circuit”.
“We have it on New Year's Day because the tourists are down and everyone is in party mode,” he said.
“I hope it is a clear day and everything runs smoothly.”
Entry for spectators is $15 at the gate, children under 12 are free.
A barbecue and bar will be open on the day.
