In searing heat, eight men and eight women played a round-robin teams’ event.
After six gruelling sets of doubles, the winning pair was the undefeated Tara Paxton and Madelyne Czubara, ahead of runners-up Libby Ives and Lorna Jackson.
It was a close contest in the women’s event with only four games separating second from fourth.
In the men’s event the pair of Rob Baddeley and Brendan Middleton had accumulated enough sets to take home the overall winners prize, with the undefeated doubles pairing of Jim Homann and Moruya Tennis Club coach Richard Sellick sitting in second place.
Sellick said he received positive feedback and players would like more events next year.
“The hope is to get more events like this on the tennis calendar next with several already planned for early in the New Year,” Sellick said.
A barbecue and a few refreshing ales concluded the day and Sellick also praised the support of tournament’s major sponsor.
