POLICE are urging residents not to leave valuables in cars after a spate of thefts in South Durras this week.

Between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning a series of motor vehicles were broken into on several South Durras streets.
In Banyandah Street a wallet and cash were stolen from a car parked at a residential property.
On Village Road a mobile phone, cash and a carpenter’s tool belt were stolen from a car.
Along Canberra Avenue, a trail motorbike worth $5000, surveyor’s tools and cash were stolen during raids at two separate properties.
South Coast Local Area Command are conducting forensic examinations of the targeted cars.
A police spokesman urged residents not to leave valuable items in vehicles when unattended and to ensure vehicles were locked at all times.
