I was immediately surrounded by a small crowd of concerned people: Lions Club ladies, shop staff, a policewoman, centre security staff and strangers who held my hand, checked my wellbeing, provided a chair, fetched a cup of water, and offered to “call a friend”.
Then, from among the faces a friend materialised and walked with me while I regained my composure and ensured I was fit to drive home.
Thank you all for your kindness and caring; you are the reason I love living in this community.
