TOURISM numbers in the Eurobodalla continue to be positive, according to council’s 2013/14 tourism report.

The report shows a decrease in day visitors but an increase in overnight stays, which could suggest visitors are converting from a day trip to an overnight stay.
The data was provided by Tourism Solutions, which has provided data to the council for several years.
The number of international visitors, 24,000, and international nights, 102,000, remain steady.
The total number of visitors to the Eurobodalla from June 2013 to June 2014 was 1.2 million and total number of nights stayed, 1.5 million, were above average.
A domestic day visitors recording of 190,000 was well below average.
The quarter ending June 2014 saw 679,000 overnight visitors; this is the most since the quarter ending March 2009.
The March 2014 quarter experienced a 1.9 per cent decrease in overnight visitors on the same period the previous year.
In the quarter ending December 2013, 676,000 visitors stayed for a total of 2,629,000 nights, the most amount of nights booked in the Eurobodalla since the quarter ending March 2009.
Domestic day visitors were down by 14.9 per cent for the quarter ending June 2014, compared to the same quarter in 2013.
Although the quarter ending September 2013 had a 32.3 per cent increase on the same period in the previous year for day visits.
In the first half of 2014, 49,000 international tourists visited the Eurobodalla coast; compared to 39,000 in the first half of 2013.
Overall the combined results show sustainable growth in visitation to the Eurobodalla which is good news for the local economy.
