The extreme heat forced one player to retire and cramp affected another player.
In division the Bay Rockets narrowly won the title against Tomakin 2 4/42 to 4/40.
Publicity officer Tricia Wheeler was rapt by the quality of tennis in tough conditions.
“Well done to all players as it was a fantastic match,” Wheeler said.
“It’s a shame there had to be a loser.”
In division two Tomakin defeated Broulee 5/31 to 1/14 and in division three Tuross defeated Tomakin 3 5/37 to 3/25.
Wheeler said it was a good end to the season on the court with supporters turning out to watch the grand finals.
She also praised Cathy Clippan for taking care of lunch and Helen Cameron for organising the 100 competition, which was won by Debbie James.
The ladies’ presentation will be next Thursday, December 4, at the Bay Waters Resort.
“I’m looking forward to seeing lots of characters from Alice in Wonderland,” Wheeler said.
There will be a prize for the best dressed team as well as a lucky door prize.
