Police allege that Vincent Victor Jeffree, 32, went to a house in Cobargo, just before 7pm on Sunday, where an argument broke out between the accused and a 41-year-old man.
Police also allege Mr Jeffree left the property, returned with a firearm, and fired a shot into the man’s car.
Both men started fighting and the accused allegedly reloaded the gun and aimed it at the man, but when the gun failed to fire, the fight continued.
Police arrested Mr Jeffree and took him to Bega Police Station.
Among his listed offences are attempting to discharge a firearm to cause grievous bodily harm, possessing and using an unauthorised firearm, possessing ammunition without holding a licence, and malicious damage.
Magistrate Doug Dick said that because of the serious nature of the offences, he had to refuse the bail application.
His counsel, John Edmunds, told the court that his client would not enter pleas until the charges were finalised.
Magistrate Dick adjourned the matter to January 19.
A 44-YEAR-OLD man from Bega has been charged with malicious damage and intimidation after an incident on Friday night at Candelo.
Police were called to an address after midnight.
The man was arrested on scene and taken to Bega Police Station where he was charged.
He was refused bail and was due to appear at Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday.
