A representative from a company providing live streaming services to councils attended the Eurobodalla council chambers last month to provide an estimate of costs to set up the service.
It would involve installing three professional high-definition zoom cameras; one at the rear of the council chambers and two mounted on the ceiling on either side of the mayor’s desk.
The cameras would be controlled by a touch screen monitor and video mixer.
The recordings would begin at the start of each meeting and stop at the beginning of the closed council agenda items.
The meeting’s current agenda item would also be viewable on the screen as the meeting takes place.
It is proposed live streaming of council meetings would provide the community with greater access to council decisions and debate.
A report on the service will be included in the Code of Meeting Practice which is to be presented to council on December 9 for adoption.
Currently no allowance has been made in the budget for live streaming and council deemed the estimated costs confidential.
