The club’s members were chasing whiting, flathead and tailor from the bag and each $25 prize was taken home.
The winners were Brian Evans with a whiting, Scott Rigby senior with a flathead and Andrew Tinsley with a tailor.
The senior cock-o-the walk was Adam Martin with his prize winning mako shark and the junior cock-o-the walk was Reese Nye with a commendable leatherjacket.
Craig Hasler reeled in a salmon and won the rock, beach and estuary prize.
Club member Neville Aurousseau advises members to keep up-to-date with new fishing regulations which will be in force during the festive season.
“Hopefully we will have literature available by then as there are several major changes to regulations with bag limits lengths and crabbing in rivers and estuaries,” Aurousseau said.
“Freshwater anglers will also be on the radar.”
The club’s competition year finished after the November competition and the new season begins with the monthly competition on Sunday, December 7.
There will also be a fish off for the Reneville Trophy for the year’s cock-o-cocks. It will be a competition for juniors and seniors and the club reminds members to check the noticeboard and if eligible place your name on the list.
The club is also planning a competition for members and visitors over the festive season but it has not confirmed a date yet.
Members are advised to look out for the December monthly competition report for information on the competition.
So until the next competition, keep those rods held high and those lines tight.
Good fishing.
Nev Aurousseau.
