Lifesavers said the rescues took place almost simultaneously.
The incident follows a similiar emergency in the Moruya River two years ago, when holidaying children were swept out to sea, and rescued.
A team in an inflatable rescue boat and the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter were called to Pambula River mouth at around 4.24pm after reports were received that two children had fallen off their body boards and were missing in the water.
While lifesavers were responding a paddle boarder provided crucial assistance, helping the children onto a sand bar.
As this rescue mission was underway, reports were received of a sea kayaker distress after being caught in the fast outgoing tide.
The kayak was taking on water and eventually capsized.
Pambula Lifesavers Don Hay and Chris Griggs were quick to respond, diverting their attention to pulling the kayaker to safety.
They then retrieved the children from the sand bar and reunited them with their parents.
Far South Coast Director of Lifesaving Andrew Edmunds praised the lifesavers' actions.
"We had a very fortunate escape this afternoon with a great result," he said.
"The outgoing tide caught these individuals by surprise, given it's speed and intensity.
"Thanks to the team from Pambula SLSC for their tremendous response."
Mr Edmunds warned that beaches are not patrolled during week days at this time of year and urged all to be cautious during the September school holidays.
If witnessing any in water incident be sure to call 000 immediately and ask for the police.
