Eurobodalla’s promising junior tennis players took serve at tennis clubs in Batemans Bay, Moruya, Tuross Head and Dalmeny before the grand finals were held at the Moruya Tennis Club in the afternoon.
Division one’s grand final was between Bay Aces, who defeated the Tuross Tactics in a thriller, and the Moruya Imports, who defeated the Moruya Scuds in their semi-final.
After a shaky first doubles from both teams the Imports took the set while the singles were split one each.
By this stage the older and stronger Moruya team had settled into some rhythm and won the final doubles convincingly.
In the end Moruya Imports (Dorian Hennequin, Arun Shresthra and Sam Lavender) beat Bay Aces (Isaac Gorzolka and Zac McPherson) 3/18 to 1/13.
Gorzolka was named best and fairest.
The division two grand final was between the undefeated Moruya Gunners and Tuross Topspin.
The Gunners beat Moruya Machines in the semi-finals while Topspin upset the Moruya Supastarz.
The smaller Tuross team played its sets smoothly while the Gunners were a little “gun-shy” in the crucial match of the season.
Tuross Topspin (Erin Carruthers and Rory Hogg) ran away winners against Moruya Gunners (Jayden Seddon and Jasper Motyka) 3/18 to nil/11.
Erin Carruthers was the best and fairest.
In division three, the Dalmeny Pirates beat the Dalmeny Divas to book a place in the grand final against the Bay Aggressors who disposed of the Bay Terminators.
The Pirates (Jarrod Manton and Braedon Welsh-Jones) were too classy on the day and sailed away to an unreachable three sets to beat the Bay Aggressors (Drew Daly and Cameron McCarter) 3/18 to nil/8.
Braedon Welsh-Jones won best and fairest.
The Bay Thumpas faced the Tuross Turbos in the division four grand final after beating the Bay Panthers and Moruya Jedi respectively in the semi-finals.
The Thumpas led early winning the first doubles and singles matches.
Tuross hit back winning the second singles but the Thumpas closed the game out winning the second doubles.
Bay Thumpas (Tahlia McCallum and Sarah Penberthy) beat Tuross Turbos (Max Colbourne and Cooper Frawley) 3/21 to 1/13 and Tahlia McCallum was the best and fairest.
