The iPhone 6 made its long–awaited debut in the Eurobodalla last Friday, and although the new smart phone seems an example of evolution and not revolution there was no shortage of interest in it.
“We had a line-up about 10 metres long at 7.30am, and the iPhone 6 Pluses sold out in 10 minutes,” Batemans Bay Village Centre Telstra Shop staff member Vanessa Yiannaros said.
The more standard IPhone 6’s sold steadily throughout the day.
Lilli Pilli’s Phil Taylor had simple reasons to buy one.
“It is the increase in size,” he said.
“The text is bigger which is good because my eyes are not as good as they used to be.”
“The iPhone 6 has a better processor, and you have more text options; you can select words faster,” Ms Yiannaros said.
Fellow Telstra Shop staff member Sean Spibey said that all the new phones the shop had (about 50) were sold out on Sunday.
There have been complaints in the media that the new iPhone is too big, but Mr Spibey said the store had not received any feedback about it, positive or negative. He isn’t expecting any either.
“It is very similar to the iPhone 5,” he said.
“It works in the same way so people will get used to it fairly easily.”
