Riverlights, a floating parade of artist-designed, community-constructed lanterns, will open the festival on Friday, October 17 at 6pm.
Granite Town secretary Danielle Williams said the Moruya River would be alight with giant floating sculptures and live music and dancing, igniting a magical atmosphere of haunting beauty.
Several have taken on the challenge of building lanterns during weekend workshops held at Moruya TAFE.
At the moment, 12 large lanterns are under construction by Eurobodalla residents who have dedicated their Saturdays for the past three weeks to make them.
Numerous amounts of smaller lanterns are also being made by school children.
"Most of the lanterns are based of the theme of the song 'fly me to the moon'," Ms Williams said.
"We have rocket ships, things that fly a rotary wheel by the local rotary club, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and more.
"The biggest lantern at the moment would be the rocket ship, which is about four metres long and two metres wide."
The lanterns will be fixed to a floating pontoon and towed by kayakers.
The festival will be held from October 17-19, with headline acts Katie Noonan, Emma Pask, Mama Kin and True Vibenation.
