The club is aware of the many hurdles to jump before the move becomes a reality and one of the most important is getting prospective players’ names in the 2015 registration book.
With this in mind, the club will publish a photo and a story on new (and old) players as they join the fray.
The Tigers have to show that the club is viable and has the players before it is accepted in Group 16, so it’s a matter of some urgency that players contact the secretary on secretarybaytigers@outlook.com or 0415 684 555 as soon as possible about signing up for the 2015 season.
The club’s first signing for 2015 is dynamic fullback Mick Tadich.
Mick was one of the top three fullbacks in Group Seven in 2013 and is the calibre of player the club needs to succeed down south.
He came to the club in 2012, by way of the Hawkesbury Hawks and the Norwest Polecats in the Parramatta Junior League.
On a sad note, long-time local identity Grahame “Bait” Kennedy passed away last week at his home on the North Coast.
He was known as a bit of a wag in his day and he was a colourful and popular character around the Bay.
His passing is a loss.
Also, the club’s best wishes go to Rodney Wright, who is recovering from serious injuries suffered in an accident overseas.
The Tigers have received a couple of phone calls about concern in Milton Ulladulla regarding the Bay’s application to join Group 16.
Some at the Bulldogs think it could be a precursor to shifting the ‘Dogs into Group 16 as well.
They also regard the move of this year’s Group Seven grand final from Albion Park to Collegians Sports Centre in Wollongong as another sign that moves are afoot.
The Milton Bulldogs, like the Bay Tigers, have struggled both financially and physically over the past couple of years and no-one knows what the CRL will come up with in the near future.
In Group Seven, the Nowra Jets defeated Shellharbour City 26-24 and will play Warilla in the grand final on Sunday at Collegians Sports Centre.
In the Group 16 first grade grand final, Bega Roosters thrashed Narooma 28-8, in reserve grade Candelo-Bemboka defeated Eden 30-24, Bega defeated Pambula–
Merimbula 19-18 in the under 18s, and the ladies’ league tag was won by Cooma, who defeated Bega 16-10.
