Head coaches John and Rebecca Brady have organised rounds of challenges, games and activites to emphasise the enjoyable aspects of athletics.
“Kids just love running around if you give them half a chance,” John said.
“If we can make exercise fun, kids will do it, love it and learn lifelong skills fast.”
The athletics season kicks off on the first Thursday of the new school term, October 9.
Children of all ages will be able to jump, throw and run at Moruya High School every Thursday from 4.30pm.
Club president Rob Way said the emphasis would be on juniors of all ages this season.
“We will have a coach focused just on kids from 12 to 18, helping them to become better at whatever they’re interested in,” Way said.
“We will also use the latest training techniques of parachutes, sled running and team competition.”
Way also encouraged younger children to become involved and to try a new activity.
“Little athletics is all about having fun, and every kid can relate to that,” he said.
“There are no winners, no losers, just kids having a go and loving it.”
Parents can register children online or at the ground.
A barbecue will be held after each meeting at Moruya High.
