Investors are now sought for the processing plant proposed for Tyrone Farm.
ClearView Water Pty Ltd this month announced the completion of stage one of the project, which involved obtaining a licence from the NSW Office of Water.
Tyrone Farm owner Peter Motbey said stage two of the process would seek investor interest and explore opportunities to develop a sustainable long-term mineral water business.
He said the project was driven by emerging problems worldwide regarding food security, as well as economic challenges due to unpredictable international trade markets.
Located adjacent to the Princes Highway and positioned between the ports of Eden and Wollongong, Mr Motbey believes his property is uniquely positioned to benefit the local community and “the greater good” in the face of global warming, diminishing subterranean water reserves and associated decreasing crop production.
“This will enable the current and successive stewards of Tyrone Farm additional prosperity and stability which will subsequently benefit and support the local community well into the future,” Mr Motbey said.
“I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all the staff and officers at Eurobodalla Shire Council and NSW Office of Water for all their help in working through the many issues along the way to achieve this end result.”
