Horseman Adrian Fierer and assistant Claud first took the club’s members through ground work to gain the horses’ attention and to ensure they were responding.
The next task riders were given was to make the horse stand on pallets and tyres and for the animal to be able to walk along poles.
The final lesson was for the riders to perform the task in the saddle.
Club spokeswoman Genevieve Maguire said the club’s members performed admirably.
“All activities took a great deal of patience and trust by the horse and rider,” Maguire said.
“Adrian’s exhibition of making his horse lie down was very impressive.
“Both riders and spectators walked away with some ideas to try at home.”
