The company won a steel excellence award for buildings - small projects for AGL Lakeside Pavilion at Mount Annan Botanic Gardens in the Southern Highlands.
It also received a high commendation for steel excellence in steel clad structures for work on the Ochre Health Centre in Bruce, ACT.
Representatives of the company were invited to the awards at Doltone House by supply company Blue Scope Lysaght, but did not know they were going to go home with the accolades.
For Bay and Coast Metal Roofing director Neil Smith, the awards were more than three decades in the making.
“We have been in the industry for 35 years and it is about recognition of what services we have done,” he said.
“We have won 11 or 12 awards before but this is our first at top state level. This is big game for us.”
The national awards are on September 4, and Bay and Coast is hoping for success there as well.
