About 6pm on Thursday June 19, officers were called to a unit in Evans Street following reports a man had died.
Police from the Far South Coast Local Area Command arrived to find the body of a 41-year-old man.
They established a crime scene which was examined by specialist forensic officers.
Officers were told the deceased man had been assaulted at the location the previous day (Wednesday 18 June 2014).
It’s alleged a 40-year-old man assaulted him and his 60-year-old male housemate at the unit before leaving.
As a result of inquiries, a 40-year-old man was arrested about 4.30pm on Friday 20 June 2014 at a Moruya address.
He was taken to Batemans Bay Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Yesterday (Wednesday 23 July 2014), investigators served the 40-year-old man with a future court attendance notice for an additional charge of murder.
He is currently bail refused to appear at Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday 28 July 2014
