One of the those who attended the meeting with Minster Stokes made comments on the ABC radio about what occurred on Monday morning. The Minister apparently has agreed to review the Act and associated regulations, which will take some time. The process involved legislative reviews and recommended changes to the legislation and regulations requires some significant consultative processes that most likely all local government areas of NSW will be asked to make submissions on.
It would be unlikely changes would be made to any legislated Acts to just satisfy the aspirations of residents and ratepayers of just one NSW local government Area.
The recommendations of any planning and environment legislation reviews, I suspect, will be received in time with great enthusiasm by all NSW local government areas and their residents.
