A Department of Communications spokesman said that as part of Tuesday’s digital TV retune in Ulladulla, there was a technical issue affecting the WIN television service transmitted from the Little Forest Trig site.
“Engineers are continuing to work to resolve this issue and work will need to occur overnight,” the spokesman said.
“There will be a short outage on the WIN TV service at around 2.30pm today (Tuesday) and television services will be off air between midnight and 5.30am on July 23 to allow further work to occur on the WIN service.”
Moruya TV technician Neil Oxley said that televisions in the Batemans Bay area whose aerials were pointed towards Ulladulla or at places such as Ridge Road, Malua Bay, where the aerials were blocked from receiving signals from the Mt Wanderer communications transmitter at Moruya, would have been affected during this time.
“They would have only been able to get ABC,” he said.
He said the situation had been rectified by this afternoon.
