The two groups recommended changes when the previous plans were submitted.
Batemans Bay Marina director James Finney said the changes were “fairly minor” and did not require a new development application.
“The requested amendments by council and the Marina Users Group related to parking, access and amenity,” he said.
“The resulting plans look great and we believe they will be well received by the community.”
However, Marina Users Group convenor Bruce McKenzie argued it was not as simple as that.
“They submitted the original plans and were told they couldn’t do it,” he said.
“We gave them a 20-odd page report about our objections.”
Mr McKenzie said the Marina Users Group was told the plans would not go in until after the Easter and Anzac Day holidays, and he again accused Batemans Bay Marina of trying to sneak the plans in while people were distracted or absent.
“The last one they put in was at Christmas, and now they put this in during the Easter and Anzac Day period,” he said.
However, a meeting was held at the marina on Wednesday between the Users Group and marina representatives, and Mr McKenzie is reasonably happy with the new plans.
“It’s much better than it was,” he said.
