Since August, nine competitions, from the under 12s to open men and women, have been contested at weekly games.
Association secretary Kylie Armstrong said many exciting games were played and that the junior ranks improved as the tournament progressed.
“Most impressive was the standard and professionalism shown by the team of junior referees who officiated at all the junior final games,” she said.
“Also impressive is the large team of voluntary coaches of Batemans Bay’s junior teams; without their commitment the competition would not be possible.”
Competition winners and runners-up:
Under 12 mixed: Signature Electrical Services beat Key Kitchens.
Under 14 girls: WIRES beat Bay Bargain Shoes.
Under 14 boys: Catalina Country Club beat Mitre 10.
Under 16 girls: Bay Side Meats and Deli beat Signature Electrical.
Under 16 boys: Catalina Country Club beat WIRES.
Under 19 women: Breakers beat Adult Education.
Under 19 men: Rotary beat Breakers.
Open women: Drek a Dek beat Batemans Bay Oysters.
Open men: Clyde River Hustlers v Ladz (still to be played).
Nominations are now open for the winter competition, which will run from May to September.
All games are held on weekday afternoons at the Batemans Bay Basketball Stadium.
“Batemans Bay Basketball now has more than 300 members and is committed to providing quality basketball competitions to players at grass roots level,” Armstrong said.
“Although the club is very proud of its recent high-level team and individual athletes’ achievements at a representative level, the board of management is equally committed to providing a quality competition for all levels of interested players.
“Teams are filling fast for the winter season, so if you are interested in joining a team, you should make a nomination before April 18.”
