The Dolphins beat Bombala but went down to rivals Batemans Bay and fellow South Coast side Milton in the 20-minute matches.
The Dolphins were slated to play the undefeated Jindabyne but the Monaro side had to withdraw due to injuries sustained on the day.
Dolphins’ senior vice-president Dean Afflick said coach Murray Hadley was pleased by the numbers and enthusiasm shown by the side.
“Murray was happy with how the guys went about it,” Afflick said.
The Dolphins introduced new faces to their first grade side as a number of under 18s players have made the step up to be regular senior players.
“A few of our young guys had a run on Saturday which is great for the club,” Afflick said.
Afflick said the numbers at training have been “good to see” and the introduction of new faces to the squad should put the club on a good path for this season.
“We will see a few ex-juniors stepping up for regular first grade duty this season,” Afflick said.
“It should be an exciting season with a number of young guys joining the squad.”
The Dolphins are unable to use their field, Captain Oldrey Park, early in the season due to council work.
Afflick said the field would be better to play on after repairs.
“The field is looking much better and will play more evenly now,” he said.
Broulee will play Milton in the first round on May 3 and will then tackle the Boars on May 10.
The Dolphins first home game will be on May 17 against Bombala.
