Scott Senior of Broulee Surfers SLSC and Sally Kennedy of Moruya SLSC were selected from a strong field and proudly represented the Far South Coast branch.
The Junior Lifesaver of the Year Award recognises and rewards outstanding younger members of the surf lifesaving movement who show an advanced level of maturity and leadership potential.
During the camp the finalists from each branch were involved in a wide range of fun, challenging and teamwork-based activities requiring great leadership and communication from the participants.
Broulee lifesaver, Scott Senior, had an unforgettable experience.
“I've learnt so much and the morning exercises have been awesome," he said.
"We’ve made so many friends here and importantly I feel like the camp has really enhanced our leadership qualities and made me in particular a better person.”
SLSNSW member services manager, Kate Higginbotham, said the camp was a fantastic opportunity to recognise the most promising young lifesavers as well as further develop their skills and attributes and show them the amazing opportunities within Surf Life Saving.
The 2014 Junior Lifesaver of the Year winners were Isabella Ferencz of the Cooks Hill- Hunter branch and Jackson Heinze of the Terrigal- Central Coast branch.
