Council staff and councillors were at the Plaza from 10am to 3pm to answer questions and listen to suggestions about the need for traffic lights at the North and Perry Street intersection.
The traffic lights were recommended to council by Bitzios Consulting, after a 2010 study, to provide safer pedestrian movement.
Eurobodalla Shire Council divisional manager of technical services Greg Miller said people had been very passionate with their views and traffic was constant throughout the morning.
“There has been some healthy debate here today,” he said.
Some of the suggestions to council have been to build an overpass, add additional pedestrian crossings or put in a round-a-bout.
“We are promoting people to have their say and weigh up the pros and cons with us,” Mr Miller said.
“It has been good to listen to people’s opinions and for us to interact with the public.”
The plans for the traffic lights will be available to view during the exhibition period or at a second community information drop-in session to be held Wednesday, April 16 in the Bridge Plaza from 10am to 3pm.
Have your say by putting in a submission or complete council’s survey before May 15.
