Now that the mayoral candidates have surfaced we can be proud, or embarrassed, that we hold the record for the number of candidates.
With 21 names, we have smashed the next highest of nine at Griffith Council by 11 candidates. We even beat the city of Sydney.
Nine is an interesting number, that’s exactly the same number of Eurobodalla Ratepayers Association candidates for mayor - I didn’t realise that there were so many talented people in the ERA (not).
For an organisation to espouse such high standards from council and then show such contempt for the political process is hypocracy in the extreme. I ask, where is their mouthpiece, Greg Malavey, or his colleagues Paul Bradstreet, Geoff Plewes and Don Burns?
These gentlemen are quite happy to make public statements during the last few years yet are now no-where to be seen.
Maybe they are practising their organ-grinding skills?
So in regards to both the council and mayoral elections it may be, and heaven forbid I never thought I’d say this, the case of the devil you know, as the options are just too scary.
