BATEMANS BAY: THe Clyde Circus, based at Batemans Bay High School, picked up two awards at the Canberra Area Theatre Awards on Friday night. The Spirit of the Community Award was won jointly with Circus 35 South from Ulladulla, while Clyde Circus also picked up the Best Ensemble Award.
PAMBULA: Public School students were in the swim at the Far South Coast Primary School Sports Association Zone Swimming Carnival at the Candelo Pool.
EUROBODALLA: Robert and Trish Richardson say some businesses might as well put up signs saying “go away” to people in wheelchairs, parents with prams and older people on scooters and walking frames. The couple moved to the shire two years ago, but say roughly half of its shops and eateries do not make them welcome – Mrs Richardson’s wheelchair simply cannot easily enter their premises.

MORUYA: Danielle Brice will talk at this year’s Rotary Youth Driver Awareness Program about her experience of losing her son in a road accident. Mrs Brice says the biggest message she would like to get out there was “be safe, look after each other and if you’re in a situation where you don’t feel safe, get out of it”.

MERIMBULA: Eden Marine High School Year 12 students at Wollongong University Discovery Day with year adviser Corinna Collins and careers adviser Michelle Bond. The students gave Discovery Day the big tick saying it was fun, educational and worth the gruelling bus trip to Wollongong.
EUROBODALLA: On the strength of his first documentaries, Ian Hibberson has won a $1000 ticket from ScreenACT to attend the Australian International Documentary Conference in Adelaide from March 4. NAROOMA: When a family from Corunna made a commitment to take in two unwanted horses they didn’t realise it would be such a rewarding experience. Phil May and Sophia Moody are stoked with the temperament of the rehomed horses and are happy for their daughters to be involved. Abby took charge of Big Red and Mia was comfortable having her first ride on Buddy around the Corunna property.
