Colleen Callahan has just returned from two weeks in New Zealand and although they encountered a flood during their visit which necessitated a few days of watching videos, the beautiful scenery and great food made up for it.

Very sad passing last week of well-known and much-loved Syd Hayes. Syd was an active member of the Broulee community for many years, along with his lovely wife Mavis. Syd will be missed not only by his family, wife Mavis and children Jeannie, Michael and Leeanne but also by the Broulee and Eurobodalla communities.

Can you believe it? Within the space of two days both Rosalyn and Dawn ran into kangaroos on the road! Dawn thanks Deb and Luke from Ambiguous Hair Salon for coming to her rescue on the Tomakin Road. So be careful, please.

Heading off overseas on an extended break are Geoff and Belinda Tarrant from Tuross Head. They plan to catch up with former Tuross friends now living in Italy. Belinda also has plans to shop in Milan, so best keep hold of that credit card, Geoff!

DYK: WD40 makes stainless steel look like new and is much less expensive than specialised products. Use a piece of kitchen paper to wipe off and no water marks remain.

YUM: The support given by the local police, who were quick to react to come and euthanase the poor injured wallaby Dawn hit, before it made its way back onto the road and into the traffic again.

Mrs Farrington-Smyth is still staying put but to pass the time she has taken up quilting! YES, quilting! She has told us she loves it and is making a bedspread. We didn’t like to ask if it was single- or king-sized.
