Police have pulled a body from the Queanbeyan River today, but the death is being treated as non-suspicious.
The woman’s body was discovered about 2.40pm.
The body has not been formally identified, but police believe it to be a woman in her 60s, who was reported missing on Monday.
Police have released a statement saying they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery, but do not believe the death is suspicious.
Officers established a crime scene, and specialist forensic officers were called in this afternoon.
A post-mortem will be conducted to establish a cause of death.
