FRIGHTENING INCIDENT: The scene of the accident at Malua Bay on Saturday.
A car left the road and crashed into a house in Malua Bay on Saturday morning.
At about 11.50am on Saturday a Toyota sedan, driven by a 79-year-old male, travelled across an intersection and then into Illabunda Drive before it crashed into the lower storey of a house.
There were no occupants in the house at the time.
Police, ambulance, State Emergency Service and fire units soon responded to the scene.
The driver’s injuries were not serious and he was taken by ambulance to Batemans Bay Hospital.
The damage to the house was substantial, and an engineer, a builder and an insurer inspected the damage.
SES personnel erected support columns to stabilise the house, and then winched the car free before it was towed away.
Police are continuing their investigations into the crash.
