One man is dead and a woman has been injured in a one-vehicle smash that has closed the busy Kings Highway this morning.
The accident happened about 15km west of Nelligen shortly before 9.30am, when a four-wheel-drive travelling east left the roadway, slammed into a rock wall and rolled.
The man driving the vehicle died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.
A woman travelling in the front seat was taken to Batemans Bay Hospital for treatment for non life-threatening injuries. She remains in a stable condition.
The Kings Hwy, which links Canberra with the coast, is expected to remain closed in both directions for several hours as local detectives and specialist forensic officers investigate the scene.
