Three hurt in car accidents

A 79-year-old man was driving with his 82-year-old wife west along the Princes Highway at Currowan at about 9.30am when they hit a rock wall while approaching a right-hand bend.

The female passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to Batemans Bay Hospital. The vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, was towed from the scene and the driver has been issued a penalty notice for negligent driving.

A male driver and female passenger were travelling north on the Princes Highway just south of Batemans Bay at about 10am when the vehicle lost traction, collided with the embankment and rolled.

The female passenger was removed from the vehicle but the driver remained in it until freed by rescue services. Both were taken to Batemans Bay Hospital suffering what is believed to be minor injuries, scratches and abrasions.
