Bermagui and Narooma Surf Life Savers were tasked by the Surf Life Saving State Operations Centre just after 11am today to a jet ski accident off Wallaga Lake Drive.

A woman in her early 20s was operating a personal jet ski when the accident occurred.
NSW Ambulance Officers and lifesavers were called to the incident and treated the woman for suspected spinal injuries on the shore.
The Snowy Hydro SouthCare helicopter was called in from Canberra and landed on the edge of the lake to assist the woman.
The crew continued to stabilise the patient and the aircraft departed the scene at about 12.30pm.
Surf Life Saving Duty Officer Andrew Edmunds said there were three people on the jet ski at the time of the accident.
“We believe they were travelling together and ran aground on a sand bar. Two people were thrown from the jet ski and the female patient ended up underneath one of the other occupants.”
Mr Edmunds thanked Narooma and Bermagui volunteers for their response.
“The volunteer team from Bermagui were all on scene within 12 minutes of getting the call with an inflatable rescue boat, and spinal boards and Narooma arrived shortly after.”
“It was a well coordinated response and goes to show the vital assistance surf life saving can provide the community and other emergency services 24/7.”
