No success in bee hive poison investigation

There have been no breakthroughs in the investigation into the mysterious poisoning of bee hives in the Batemans Bay area.

Far South Coast LAC crime manager Detective Inspector Kevin McNeil said rural crime investigators from Queanbeyan and Cooma as well as local detectives were involved in the criminal investigation.

“At this stage 10 sites have been identified in the Currowan State Forest and Murramarang National Parks covering from East Lynne, Pebbly Beach Road to Currowan/Western Distributor,” Detective Inspector McNeil said.

“Forensic examinations have identified poisons have been used to kill the bees with 1214 hives destroyed.”
