What’s happening at North Head?
I had intended to stay the night at North Head campground on a recent trip to Moruya. When I arrived I was disappointed to find what once was a beautiful spot, now looked more like a shanty town.
Old cars, derelict caravans and permanent camps take up all the sites closest to the new amenities block.
Moruya airport is the gateway to the shire. I can only imagine that tourists arriving by air, like me, would have a very poor opinion of the Eurobodalla Shire’s management of the area.
Rustic camp sites are a valuable asset to the community, places where families can enjoy the simple pleasures of camping. I was not aware that people could live permanently in these areas.
