Salmon on the bite in ‘plague proportions’

Moruya River

NICE catches of bream are being brought in from the moored boats down towards the front of the system, with some nice luderick in around the hole in the wall and the rock wall.

Good flathead are being caught by drifting from Quarry Wharf down towards the front, throwing soft plastics in and around the weed beds.

Tuross Head

VIP member Noel headed back onto the water and enjoyed a great catch-and-release session (20 flatties in total and all around the 40-50cm mark) using Squidgy Bloodworm 100mm.

Noel took an “old caravan friend” out and gave him a lesson in soft plastics fishing. Needless to say, this guy is now hooked and enjoying himself immensely.

Grab your light bream gear and enjoy some great catches of salmon while having a ball.

These fish are being caught from the front of the system around to the boat shed.

You must fish the incoming tide for best results here.

Beaches and rocks

VIP member Ross headed out off Meringo for some nice catches of salmon, tailor and bream.

The salmon are big and in plague proportions with every cast landing a fish.

For best results use Arma Twisties, anchovies or metallic slices.

Offshore

Captain Ron onboard Winda Woppa I and II found some brilliant kingfish right out the front of Moruya in 40 to 50 metres of water.

For best results try using River2Sea jigs.

Mowies, pigfish and snapper were also caught in 50 metres of water with makos and gummies being landed in 60m.

Nice flathead were also caught in 30m of water, while the water temperature is currently running at 16.4 degrees.

Have a great week, everyone, and remember that every day is a good day for fishing!
