Moruya police have confirmed reports of a shooting in the town last week were only a rumour.
Social media sites were buzzing last week, reporting that a teenage boy had been shot in Moruya on Tuesday night.
Police said last week that no official reports of a shooting had been made, but they were making inquiries into the boy’s welfare.
Earlier today, duty officer Inspector Greg Flood said police had investigated the allegations and they had proven to be fiction.
“All parties have been spoken to and are all safe and well,” he said.
