EUROBODALLA’S under 12s representative football team returned home from Bathurst after the long weekend as the Country Cup champion.
On day one, the girls’ first game was against Western, and Eurobodalla came out firing as Ebony Lloyd scored two early goals.
However, the goal-scoring spree was far from over, as Jazmine Zabel, Noika White and Nakia Moreton-Stewart added further strikes for a 5-nil win.
The second match on day one was against the previously undefeated Riverina, but goals again from Moreton-Stewart and Zabel quickly put an end to that streak as Eurobodalla won 2-nil.
On day two, the girls faced Western again in temperatures below freezing.
However, not even that could prevent Moreton-Stewart from adding two more goals to her tally as Eurobodalla took an early lead.
White and Jada Olsen-Flanagan also got on the scoreboard for a 4-nil win.
The second game on day two was against familiar foe Riverina, who came out determined to reverse the result from day one.
But goals to Olsen-Flanagan, Moreton-Stewart, Kira Shilling and Ebony Lloyd put the result beyond doubt as the South Coast girls prevailed 4-1.
That win was enough for the Eurobodalla girls to secure the NSW Country Cup.
The only sour note for the girls came when influential player Renee Poland had to leave Bathurst early due to illness.
