The Bay Post/Moruya Examiner has confirmed with Southern NSW Local Health District that the spider bite was from a black house spider and the patient – a 12-year-old Bodalla girl – was in hospital for less than an hour.
Reports circulated that paramedics were called to help the girl just after 5pm on Monday afternoon and she was taken to Moruya Hospital.
She didn’t require anti-venom and her bite on her left hand was bandaged before she went home less than an hour later.
