A man has been charged with murdering a woman who was found unconscious in the bedroom of her home in Sydney's west.

The 66-year-old woman died in Westmead Hospital several hours after police were called to the woman's home in Emu Plains on Thursday.
Detectives arrested a 26-year-old man, who was known to the woman, at the hospital a short time after her death.
He was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with one count of murder.
Police said they were called to the Lucas Street home about 10am to reports that a woman had fallen unconscious.
Paramedics treated the woman in her bedroom for head injuries and she was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition. She died about 3pm.
The woman's home was examined by forensic officers on Thursday.
The 26-year-old man was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Friday.
