Rodeo president Andy Mehl said the turnout was the biggest he could remember.
“It went really well,” he said.
“We had a great day and a really big crowd and they had plenty of riders for the events.”
Of course, the bull and horse riding events were what attracted the masses and Mehl insisted the stock animals didn’t let anybody down by putting on a show full of thrills and spills.
However, the riders impressed in equal measure.
“The bulls performed really well and so did the horses, but in saying that the riders got some really good scores,” Mehl said.
“And the good thing was that the crowd really got into it, which was great.
“It’s hard to get an estimation but I’d say it was the biggest crowd we’ve ever had. I’d say it was somewhere around 4000. It was the biggest crowd I can remember.”
