Garcia, 16, shot a four-over par round of 75 to miss the qualification cut.
“Unfortunately I didn’t get in,” he told the Bay Post/Moruya Examiner yesterday via text message.
“I didn’t play too well but (it) was a good experience.”
Former Tuross Head man Brendan Jones will now carry the Eurobodalla’s hopes at the prestigious event, which tees off at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney tomorrow morning.
