To have an average house approved on acreage is no simple matter in the Eurobodalla.
It is no wonder people give up and decide to buy land elsewhere, such as in Shoalhaven Shire where applications are approved in record time.
The “green mentality” has infiltrated the bureaucracy of this “anti-development” council so much that the huge constraints worn by land owners becomes an epic saga of ongoing meetings of numerous council staff all giving information that changes every couple of months.
Bunnings pulled out of a major development due to “the goal posts being continually changed” and having experienced exactly the same problem with this council it is time for some more practical staff to be employed and set the number of changes for registration of a development approval.
Eurobodalla has a growth rate of around two per cent, one of the lowest in NSW.
This is a disgrace for a coastal shire and can be attributed largely to inefficiency.
